Jet City StoveWorks is a 501(c)(3) non-profit corporation (incorporated in the State of Washington) established to design, test and produce cookstoves that burn renewable fuels.
Jet City StoveWorks current project is a whole-seed burning stove called the Jiko Safi.  The Jiko Safi uses the seed from the Jatropha plant, which is found throughout Africa and other areas in the Southern hemisphere.  Using the whole seed in the stove moves cooking from an unhealthy daily experience to a healthy, inexpensive alternative.
"Although the toxic smoke from primitive stoves is one of the leading environmental causes of death and disease, and perhaps the second biggest contributor to global warming, after the industrial use of fossil fuels, it has long been neglected by governments and private aid organizations."
